Provincial Championship
Wednesday, April 12th 2017
We arrived at the at the Hershey Centre at around 3:00pm to set up our pit. We changed our gear basket to a more efficient design and began testing it out in practice matches.
Thursday, April 13th 2017
We spent most of the morning improving and optimizing our gear basket during our practice matches to insure its efficiency during the games.
Once the preliminary games started, we got off to a slow start. We decided we needed to up our game and so, we worked very hard throughout the day to enhance our autonomous system by creating a completely new program for gears.
By the end of the day, we were able to complete the program and it was ready for in-game use.
Friday, April 14th 2017
We arrived early in the morning to check our robot and confirm our match times. We paid special attention to our gear basket.
Today was the first time we were able to put on four gears.
At the end of the day, we worked on our autonomous. We wanted it to be able to put a gear on from any starting point. In the practice field, we were able to get it to work.
At 3 o’clock our team mates Sydney, Daniel and Jordyn had the Rookie All-Star Award. They were asked many questions and were able to answer them very well.
In order to let off some steam, half of the team went to an arcade and the rest went laser tagging after qualification matches to bond.
Saturday, April 15th 2017
Today was our last day of competition and we only had two games left. We had time in the practice field to make sure our autonomous worked. Sadly, during the games it did not work. There was a problem with the alignment and the gyro.
We were not picked for an alliance, but were still excited to watch the games!
During the awards ceremony we won the Rookie-All Star Award! We were so excited and happy, some of our mentors were crying! All our hard work paid off and were going to Worlds!
